How bitehook works
You bring a video you already shot. We generate a few seconds to put in front of it, built so the join doesn't read as a cut. One file in, one file out — there's no editing step for you at all.
Pick a hook from the catalog
Every hook in the catalog has a working demo, so you see the kind of opening you'll get before you spend anything. You don't describe what you want — you choose it.
Upload your video
Whatever you already shot: a walkthrough, a piece to camera, a product clip. Horizontal or vertical both work. We check the file the moment it arrives, so a broken upload fails immediately instead of halfway through a generation.
We take your first frame
The very first frame of your upload is extracted on our server. That single image is what makes the rest work.
The hook is generated to end on that frame
Your first frame is handed to the generator as the hook's final frame. The hook is composed backwards from where your video begins, rather than being generated freely and then cut to fit.
The two are stitched together
The hook is conformed to your video's own format — resolution, frame rate, codec — and joined to it. The result is one continuous file, not two clips playing in sequence.
You download one file
Ready to post as it is. Nothing to assemble, no project to open.
The join is the whole product
Generic video generators make a clip. The difference here is that the generated clip is required to land on an image we already have — the first frame of your footage — so the moment the hook hands over to your video isn't a cut, it's a continuation. If that join reads as a splice, the product hasn't done its job. It's the one thing we won't ship badly.
Putting yourself in the hook
Optionally you can upload a photo of your face, and the hook can feature you rather than a stranger. It's optional and can be removed from your profile at any time.
What it doesn't do
- There's no editing. We don't cut, retime, caption or rearrange your footage — the hook goes in front of it, and that's the whole operation.
- Uploads are short-form: up to 90 seconds and up to 250 MB, at least 1 second long.
- Horizontal and vertical both work. Source video up to 4K is accepted and normalised to 1080p, which is what the generator outputs.
- Common phone and desktop formats are supported — mp4, mov, webm and m4v containers with h264, hevc, vp9 or av1 video. The file is checked by inspecting it, not by trusting its extension.
- We don't guarantee a specific artistic result. You can see exactly what a hook looks like before you spend anything, which is why the catalog exists.
