bitehook is operated by DDDEV LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("bitehook", "we", "us").
On this page
1. Who we are
DDDEV LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom, is the controller of the personal data described here. UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply.
2. What we collect
Account data: your email address and your language preference. We sign you in with a one-time code sent to that address, so there is no password to store.
Content you upload: the video you want a hook for, and — only if you choose to provide it — a photo of your face, so a hook can feature you.
Service data: the generations you ran, their status, and your credit balance and transactions.
Analytics data: if, and only if, you accept analytics cookies, pages viewed and interactions on this website. See the cookie policy.
3. Why we may use it
To provide the service you asked for — generating a hook, joining it to your video, keeping your results available (performance of a contract).
To take payment and keep the records required of us (contract and legal obligation).
To keep the service working and secure, and to understand which hooks people find useful (legitimate interests, and consent where analytics cookies are involved).
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your uploads to train models.
4. Where it is stored
Application data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on servers in the European Economic Area.
Videos, frames and face photos are stored in a private storage zone that is not publicly listable; files are served through short-lived signed links.
Some of our providers are outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Who else sees it
A third-party AI video generation provider, which receives the first frame of your video and, if you provided one, your face photo, in order to generate the hook.
Our payment provider, which handles your payment and holds your card details — we never see them.
Our analytics providers, only if you accepted analytics cookies.
Our hosting and storage providers, as part of running the service.
6. How long we keep it
Source files — your uploaded video, its extracted first frame and any intermediate file — are deleted once you save a result. That is how the product already behaves, not a promise about the future.
Finished results stay available in your account until you delete them or delete your account.
Account, payment and credit records are kept while your account exists and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
7. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent to analytics at any time.
You can delete your account and its content from inside the app.
To exercise any of these, write to us using the address on the contact page. If you are unhappy with how we handled it, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
